The graduate of international student from our school has completed the first abdominal perineal resection (APR) in Tanzania

Recently, GEORGE KEFA KANANI, a Tanzanian master's degree graduate of our school, reported good news that he led a team to complete the first abdominal perineal resection (APR) at Bugando Medical Center in Tanzania, filling the gap in abdominal perineal resection in the country. He also successfully completed two cases of laparoscopic assisted right hemicolectomy, and both patients responded well after surgery without complications.

GEORGE KEFA KANANI was engaged in surgery work at the renowned Bugando Medical Center in Tanzania before pursuing a Master's degree in General Surgery at our university. However, due to limitations in medical technology and equipment, he has not yet performed laparoscopic surgery for colorectal carcinoma. GEORGE KEFA KANANI is a Master's student of 2019 majoring in Surgery at our university, learned after Professor Chen Xin, Director of the Department of Hernia and Colorectal Surgery at the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University, GEORGE KEFA KANANI has been awarded a Chinese government scholarship by China Scholarship Council. Under the guidance of Professor Chen Xin, he has diligently studied laparoscopic surgery for colorectal carcinoma, proficiently mastered the technique, and completed several surgeries. GEORGE KEFA KANANI sincerely thanks Professor Chen Xin for his careful guidance, as well as the Chinese government scholarship from the China Scholarship Council. He will continue to use the advanced medical technology he has learned at our school to repay China and benefit the people of Tanzania with practical actions.
This case of surgery demonstrates the fruitful results of our school's cultivation of high-end talents studying abroad in China, and will continue to promote the high-quality development of our school's education for students studying abroad in China.
