Large-scale International Symposium 2016 on Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics opened at DMU
On 1st -3rd July, International Symposium 2016 on Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics & The Founding of Biophysical Society of China -Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics Branch, was held at DMU. This symposium was sponsored by Biophysical Society of China -Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics Branch, and co-sponsored by DMU-AIMS, The Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University, and State Key Laboratory of Molecular Developmental Biology. A total of 100 well-known experts from home and aboard were invited to be a part of this symposium. Among domestic attendees, many of them are chief scientists in M.O.S.T. 973 Project, specially-appointed professors in Ministry of Education’s Changjiang Scholars Program, members of Thousands of People Plan under Central Organization Department, as well as other important national laureates.
51 high-end academic report sessions, as well as translational medicine forum, were held during this symposium, for experts in preclinical and clinical medicine to conduct in-depth communication. From different perspectives, experts summed up the new progress made in lipid metabolism and bioenergetics over recent years of development as well as relevant application in cardiovascular, metabolism, immunity, and organs’ functional regulations on as a whole. Experts also had wide academic exchanges in R&D, teaching and experimental techniques, which is of great significance for the exploration of regulatory mechanism in lipid metabolism and bioenergetics, for breaking through the bottleneck in current life science study and for conquering major chronic metabolic diseases.
